75th Street & Douglas Avenue Intersection Improvements

Description

This project will add left turn lanes and a new traffic signal at the intersection of 75th Street and Douglas Avenue. These enhancements will make the area safer, increase the capacity of the intersection, and reduce travel time through the intersection.

Project Status Update - 10/30/18

The outside westbound traffic lane on Douglas Avenue is closed. The north leg of 75th Street is closed at Douglas Avenue.

The contractor has started the paving and anticipates completing the street paving next week. After the street paving is completed, the asphalt will be removed from the north half of Douglas Avenue to allow for street patching (Phase 2 lane closures). It is anticipated the new asphalt will be placed on the north half of Douglas Avenue the weekend of November 17th. Due to the weather delays this year, the project will not be completed. The project will be reopened to traffic around Thanksgiving and the patching and asphalt work on the south half of Douglas Avenue will be completed next spring.

Please see attachment below for a map of the project's phases. The entire project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2019.

This project will be constructed in three phases to help maintain access to businesses. At all times, a minimum of one lane for westbound and eastbound traffic will be maintained for the duration of the project.

Please expect delays in your commute and use an alternate route if possible.
